At Engine 53 Pizza, we scratch make our dough with four ingredients: flour, water, salt and yeast. Our sauces do not contain added sugar or MSG. We believe fresh ingredients taste better. We proudly serve Neapolitan style pizza and maintain the standard as close to Naples, Italy as possible. The idea for Engine 53 Pizza started because, well, we got hungry. Working night shifts as an RN in the emergency room, good food is hard to find. We thought if we had a mobile pizza oven, we could eat anytime. Fast forward 6 years and here we are with two wood fired pizza trucks. Our original truck is the name sake for our business, Engine 53. We call her "Ginger" and she is a vintage 1964 Ford fire truck that was a real working fire truck in Hyde Park, Pennsylvania. One of her water tanks was removed to make room for the pizza oven. She goes out to special catered events nearby. In 2014, we upgraded to our 2002 International that we call "Big Red". This truck is larger at 37 feet in length and has a larger pizza oven to serve food faster and keep up with the crowds. We can travel throughout Florida. This custom built truck includes floor to ceiling views of our mobile pizza kitchen. You can watch us throw dough, build, cook and serve pizza all over Tampa Bay. We are available for catering weddings, parties and corporate events.
