Our story

Arctic MotMot Premium Shaved Ice is family owned and inspired by Frank and Elizabeth the creative mind behind our concept, handcrafted flavors, and commitment to quality. As Salvadoran-Americans we enjoying shaved ice and dreamed of sharing that same joy with others.

The name MotMot honors El Salvador’s national bird, celebrating our heritage while adding our own unique twist. In El Salvador, shaved ice—known as minutas—is a beloved treat that brings families and communities together. Arctic MotMot pays tribute to those roots while creating a one-of-a-kind experience that’s uniquely ours.

Just like the colorful MotMot bird, we hope every cup brings a little joy, comfort and great experience to help cool off from the Houston heat!

At Arctic MotMot, we believe shaved ice should be anything but ordinary. That’s why we use industry leading equipment and filtered water to create an incredibly soft, snow like texture that melts effortlessly in your mouth. Every flavor is handcrafted in-house using premium concentrates and 100% pure cane sugar no high-fructose corn syrups are gluten free. Our tropical-inspired creations, every cup is thoughtfully crafted and finished with premium toppings. The result is bold, refreshing flavor in every bite.
